I know it’s been a few days since the last update but I can assure you it will be worth the wait. We have been doing a few shoots which is why it has been a little quiet. The featured image is from one last weekend with Nina, shot by HomAge, now in the gallery. The inspiration was Sugiura Norio’s photographic style and old-style/kuzushi rope work with a nod to Yukimura. The result is messy but, to me anyway, aesthetically pleasing with big clumps of rope and lots of it; a big departure from the very clean style that seems to be the current fashion. I’m not sure who was most breathless by the end of the very intense first session: Nina after multiple Magic Wand induced orgasms or HomAge, who said, looking somewhat agog, “Well, I wasn’t expecting that!”. For me, shoots of real sessions are what kinbaku photography is all about. That’s what’s hot, so I try to practice what I preach and tie people, not parcels.
Due to the Firewire port dying on my DV cam and not being able to find a sensibly priced replacement yet, video has taken a bit of a back seat. However, we are going to try an experiment today using a wide angle HD helmet cam on a tripod. Hopefully, we’ll post the results later. I might even try some rigger’s eye shoots (if I can head mount it without the usual crash helmet!) but I think I need a second camera shooting wide to make it watchable, as nobody needs to see that much of the back of a model’s head.
