Later this month, I will be off to Copenhagen Dojo for the Yukimura Haruki class to find out what the grandmaster of the art of newaza can teach me. I fully expect this to be one of those reminders that come just when you think you are beginning to learn something about a subject. No doubt many more layers will be suddenly exposed by Yukimura. I’m really looking forward to this one as, for me, this is what kinbaku is all about and it will be my first visit to the Dojo. It will be good to finally see Max & Tina’s operation there as I have heard so much about it and it has been pivotal in the Eurpean scene.
On Saturday, 25 August I shall be putting my experience, plus what I have added from the Yukimura class, into practice at my Tying People, Not Parcels class at Justin & Juliette in Malmo, just across the water in Sweden. Their shop, where the class is to be held, looks amazing, quite genteel and unlike the usual seedy looking sex shop (see header image). There are still a couple of places left if you are quick. Click here for details.
I came across an interesting post by my friend Hedwig about an experience she had with somebody who seemed to be a natural at connecting with rope. You can read it here on her MoreInches blog.
