ESINEM-Rope in glorious Technicolor
I have decided to move away from the equivalent of Henry Ford’s “You can have my cars in any colour you like so long as it’s black”. Over the past few months, I have been gathering samples of pre-dyed rope in every colour of the rainbow. In fact, since everyone is going rainbow crazy with Pride and so on, I thought a set in all colours of the rainbow might be in order.
I am in the process of ordering two initial batches of coloured rope, one in single ply somewhat like my Osaka and another which feels like treated Tossa. More news on this when I receive them.
Spanking new tutorials
After Vicky Caves ‘Introduction to Impact Play’, we shot the next step for those wishing to learn more and explore the subject more deeply. Due to various other commitments and PC problems, it is still in edit. The good news is that my other PC should be sorted today and I am clearing the decks to get on with it. It shouldn’t be too long as most of the hard work has been done already.
In the new tutorial, Vicky teaches more advanced techniques like Florentine flogging and demonstrates how to use a much wider range of toys…some nice and sensual, others very ouchy! Some might be surprised to learn that it’s not all about pain; there can be a very sensual and gentle side to impact play. The tutorial culminates with a play scene where she puts it all together. Sophie’s facial expressions and vocalisation will be all you need to convince you of the effectiveness of her methods 😉
T-Rex or tengu shibari?
Over the weekend, Sophie suggested we rope lab an idea she had for a new suspension. It would combine the one we did in Bordeaux, which had her in splits on a bamboo, with a suspension capable version of Osada Steve’s tengu shibari (tengu is a winged devil, so the position gives it the name). The little arms look made me think of a T-Rex but I guess ‘tengu shibari’ or something in Japanese sounds cooler…I wonder if there’s a specific Japanese word for T-Rex? 😀 Here’s a quick screen grab but I will edit the video when I have done the new impact play tutorial…and my tax returns.
We would do a tutorial but there are not many models who bend like Sophie does, so I will have to make it more accessible. I like the idea of tengu based suspensions as it is something different from the ubiquitous gote.
