Usefedora, the company behind the software that drives my online school, ShibariClasses.com, have been working on some improvements. One that I have been waiting for is their integrated quiz option which is now in the early stages. The first big step was to allow HTML so I can now add photos and other material to quizzes. This means ‘Spot the mistake’ type tests are now possible.
I have been playing around in ‘My software laboratory‘ which is where I test new things on the site. Since I use ‘Complete Shibari’ as a teaching aid to illustrate mistakes and test students, it seemed appropriate to use one of my favourite images for this purpose. I have created a ‘How many mistakes can you spot?’ style test using a photo of a gote from Sky that you can try.
Unfortunately, there’s no facility to pop up comments based on answers or give feedback as yet. The best I could think of was the old-school, “Now turn to the next page for the answers” method. I’d prefer something more interactive and that didn’t allow peeking at the answers till the test was completed. Hopefully, this will come soon but meanwhile here’s the quiz and here are the answers/comments. Take a look and see what you think.
I’ll add a few more questions in the next couple of days to experiment with formats and question types. Once that’s done, I will add some tests to the classes.
