I thought I’d post a hastily made screen capture from the ‘Old-style gote (TK)’ tutorial to give you a glimpse of what’s inside as we haven’t set up a free preview of the standalone tutorials. Even sight unseen, it has had a fantastic response and has encouraged us to shoot more of that ilk as soon as possible. As skills have progressed in the west, it seems there’s now a huge demand for high-quality advanced tutorials. Whilst, the massive number of YouTube videos have their use, they also have their problems, particularly when it comes to more sophisticated techniques. For a start, there is only so much you can learn from them as you really need a very detailed explanation as there is often more to them than merely following a pattern. Most importantly, if you need a tutorial, you are unlikely to be qualified to judge the accuracy and quality of the teaching. There is no use in building on poor foundations. Nina and I have been taught by the most respected sensei of Japan, so you can be certain of sound technique, and we both have extensive teaching experience.
All the tutorial and course material is supported by step by step videos, professionally shot and edited, with clear close-ups. The latest tutorials are in HD! Not only that but you can ask our advice via the Q&A forum, read copious notes and articles on usage, tying techniques, common errors and safety and see examples of such ties in practice, often by Japanese masters. There is nothing on-line that covers such detail!
