* What is ‘Pop up Rope Events’?
The term ‘pop-up’ is borrowed from the retail concept of a ‘pop-up retail space’ which allows for small and temporary shops to appear and disappear at any given location. The advantage of applying the ‘pop-up’ concept to rope events is that we can run events on a completely opportunistic manner. This means that if there is a presenter, an idea, a location, a rope-related occasion, then they’ll set it up. Events organised include the workshops by BOUND performers and others, life-drawing and discussions.
Events run under the ‘pop-up’ name are not tied to a rigorous schedule, they are not linked to any one venue and they are not associated with any particular group of teachers/presenters.
* Who is ‘Pop up Rope Events’?
The name and concept (as related to rope) are the brainchild of FredHatt and MissBones, a London-based ropey couple who enjoy helping at local events as well as organising local events. Through Pop-up Rope Events they are able to provide the opportunity for all the talented local and non-local rope artists/models/performers/photographers/artists to share their skills, experience, ideas and knowledge.
* Why ‘Pop-up Rope Events’?
The aim is to create a more dynamic and more democratic rope scene, where people with time and passion for rope can help put together an event. There is no particular philosophy, politic, rule or style of rope bondage attached to Pop-up Rope and we welcome all types of rope approaches.
