Osaka Dan is in London for the next two weeks, staying with me in scenic Camberwell. He will be available for private tuition, specialising in Kazami style, and will be working with ShibariClasses as a guest presenter during his visit.
Who is Osaka Dan?
Osaka Dan first discovered after witnessing a performance in an Osaka Pizza Parlour in 2010, After three months study with Kazami Ranki, he foundered the Toronto Kinbaku Salon, in 2013, subsequently touring North America and Europe teaching and performing in Kazami Style in over 10 countries.
Dan is known and recognized for his succinct yet adaptable teaching style, working with his student’s strengths and weaknesses toward their realization of their own subjective approach to the art. His contributions to ShibariClasses will inject a new flavour to the ‘recipes’ that can be created with familiar ‘ingredients’.
What is Kazami style?
Kazami style contains many elements which will be familiar, especially to those who have studied the Akechi/KannaOsada/Kinoko gote. However, his approach is unique in it isolation and lock offs of the separate nodes of the harnesses with a view towards maximizing the safety and comfort of the tying partner, through more intense suspension transitions.
