My time off from performing is paying off. I have finally added live webcam streaming to the new members area. When it is out of test mode, full members will be able to see live sessions, random moments at Chez Esinem and, hopefully, I will be able to stream performances at BOUND and other events.
It’s a steep learning curve as there seem to be many ways of skinning this particular cat. There are numerous video serving platforms with a bewildering array of schemes and a minefield of Acceptable Use policies. Finding one which doesn’t have puritanical criteria is not easy. Added to that is the challenge of getting all of the components to play nicely together, which is easier said than done, especially since I’d rather like to try streaming from my Android tablet.
Anyway, I have managed to get my HD webcam streaming some very high quality video to my site both from my PC and a geriatric notebook. Take a look here, you don’t need to be a full member yet. At the moment, it is only on for testing intermittently but I’ll let you know via Facebook or Twitter when I decide to do some tying or have something more newsworthy. Nina and Maya will certainly be doing one of their regular sessions for an hour at 7pm on Monday 23 September and I’m sure there will be plenty of action here as the Festival approaches. Maybe I can persuade Naka Akira to appear on cam while he’s my guest here this coming week? Tune in!
