Nina and I were fortunate to be invited to Ciprian’s studio upon our arrival in Bucharest for a shoot with Gorgone. Apart from being a very successful professional photographer, Ciprian is amongst the best Romanian riggers and also runs a Japanese bondage photography site: Shibari.ro. These series certainly seem to have hit the spot with Fetlife members as both Nina’s and my ties getting record numbers of Love Its and making Kinky and Popular within hours. One of the photos of Nina’s ties has nearly 4,000 Love Its, whilst one of mine has exceeded 4,500. Oddly, the photo that I prefer, which was posted prior, has only 245 Love Its. Why there is such a differential is a total mystery to me. One thing that is very clear is that the most loved photos seem to be those professionally taken and feature a great model, very often Gorgone. There’s one thing for sure. The rigger is part of a team and a good model is make or break for a shoots or stage. I firmly believe a great model can enhance an average riggers work or a bad one make it very hard for even the best to shine. Of course, good photography can work marvels. All too often, in my opinion, great photography overcomes a rigger’s lack of artistry leading to somewhat undeserved adulation.
