If you are local, the recent torrential rain will come as no news but those further afield might be unaware that we are experiencing classic ‘British BBQ weather’. As we tend to treat rope in small batches, due to the logistical issues, this isn’t great news. Whilst the wet bit is no problem, drying it under tension is quite another matter. We do this outdoors so we can run long lengths and it lets the air get to it all properly. The way things are this week, it looks like it would end up wetter than it went out. This means that ESINEM-Rope orders for wet-treated rope could be delayed for a few days until we get a slot when the weather is kind to us.
The good news is that it looks like it should be dry from Friday, at least for a bit. Assuming Camberwell doesn’t experience its own micro-climate, we should be good to get some dried and finished off for the weekend. Fingers crossed.
