As we have been running BOUND on the last Friday of the month, it clashed with the opening of the Festival. Consequently, we have moved it to Thursday 26 September for this month. This will give those who are in town for the Festival a chance to get in the mood and those who aren’t to get a taste of what they are missing. This is going to be the night of the year for BOUND.
If you have been before, you might know that we usually start the evening with a short class. As RDF Television will be shooting part of a documentary on behalf of National Geographic TV, we thought that it might be interesting to open the night with an open discussion on what kinbaku means to us, how it is developing and where it might go. This will be very relevant to their reporter as it will be his introduction to the subject. He is approaching the subject with an open mind to ask the question “Is it porn or is it art?” and will ultimately decide whether he wishes to be tied himself.
From now on, we are moving from our usual last Friday of the month. The next one is 11 October, but from November, it will run on the FIRST FRIDAY of each month. Anyway, having confused you totally, back to the pre-Festival BOUND.
BOUND is held at a very cool alternative venue in Camberwell, the Flying Dutchman London. We usually start with a short optional free class or presentation. Later on, there are shows but in between you can tie or just socialise. It will be a great chance to see some of the stars of the Festival, catch up with old friends and meet some of the people that you only know in cyber-space, including some very key names from the rope scene.
