The back-up has finished so you should be getting full benefit from the new server now but I won’t know till you give it a beating. We need to see how it handles load as that is the critcal thing and the whole reason for the upgrade is that you always get good response times. I know this hasn’t been the case in the past, especially at peak periods. With the power we have behind the site now, it should handle anything you can throw at it for a very long time to come. If you do manage to slow it down, it should mean the site has gained in popularity dozens of times over so I won’t complain. Over the next week or so, we might do some fine tuning and we’ll see if all the cacheing is doing what it is supposed to for the performance.
So, I’m running a newsletter to make sure as many people as possible check out the new site and give it a bit of a hammering. To encourage you, I have uploaded some new videos and photos like the one below already in the free galleries with more to come over the next few days.
