At 1:17 in the video below, you will catch a glimpse of some of the rope work on a shibari dress I did for Tom Ford’s spring/summer collection. His declared theme for the collection was “Chastity and perversity”.
I was closeted away in a windowless room with several shop dummies at his offices in Victoria, so, sadly, no glamour involved in this job beyond the prestige 🙂 Believe me it is far harder trying to tie a shop mannequin that a real person. Keeping rope in place becomes very difficult on a hard unyielding surface with little grip. Although, I doubt the seamstress had an easy task. She had to remove it and ensure it remained intact whilst fastenings were fitted so the models could put the shibari tie on over their clothing like this.
